  • Revisiting happiness measurements: The challenges of quantitative research

    Open Access•Yilin Jiang, Narina A Samah et al.•ARTICLE•Social Sciences & Humanities Open•2025

The evaluation of well-being or satisfaction, frequently conceptualised as happiness, constitutes a pivotal aspect of sustainable development goals (SDGs). This is primarily due to its capacity to provide a more extensive and integrated perspective on human prosperity compared to conventional economic indicators like gross domestic product (GDP). However, current happiness quantitative research faces several challenges. This study conducts a narr…

Heng Zhou, Ai‐Jun Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2025

  • Investigating college youth travellers’ food choices using latent class modelling: A case study in China

Heng Zhou, Chunyu Song et al.•ARTICLE•Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism…•2023•References: 7

This study examines college youth travellers’ food choices using a market segmentation-based latent class modelling approach. A D-efficient stated-preference experiment was conducted in four Chinese cities, identifying two tourist market segments with different preferences. Key factors influencing food choices include cost, taste, waiting time, service responsiveness and noise levels. Elasticities, first differences and willingness-to-pay values …

  • The prevalence and characteristics of metabolic syndrome according to different definitions in China: A nationwide cross-sectional study, 2012–2015

Open Access•Yilin Huang, Linfeng Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2022

The prevalence and characteristics of the MetS vary with the definition used in the Chinese population. The three MetS definitions are more consistent in men but relatively poor in women. On the other hand, even if estimated according to the definition of the lowest prevalence, MetS is common in China

  • Assessing the potential of an effective density-based measure against accessibility models for evaluation and prioritisation of activity centres

Open Access•Keone Kelobonye, Heng Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Applied Geography•2021

  • Proteomics analysis in the kidney of mice following oral feeding Realgar

Open Access•Sheng Zhang, Chao Li et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

  • Sound-induced flash illusion in elderly adults: Evidence from low-frequency fluctuation amplitudes in resting-state fMRI

Heng Zhou, Hua He et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2020

Auditory dominance refers to the auditory information in multisensory integration; more priority is given to auditory information, and it is processed in a dominant position. Sound-induced flash illusion (SiFI) is a typical auditory dominance phenomenon, namely, the visual perception of a stimulus for briefly heard voices, qualitatively changing at the same time, resulting in a fission illusion (F1B2) and a fusion illusion (F2B1). Previous studie…

  • Measuring the accessibility and spatial equity of urban services under competition using the cumulative opportunities measure

Open Access•Keone Kelobonye, Heng Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Transport Geography•2020•Cited by: 10•References: 18

  • Drivers of Change in Urban Growth Patterns: A Transport Perspective from Perth, Western Australia

    Open Access•Keone Kelobonye, Jianhong Xia et al.•ARTICLE•Urban Science•2019•Cited by: 3•References: 3

The evolution of urban form is a slow and complex process driven by various factors which influence its pattern of occurrence (time, shape and directions) over time. Given the ever-increasing demand for urban expansion, and its negative effects on travel efficiency and environmental quality, it is imperative to understand the driving forces behind this complex process. This study investigates the role played by transport developments in the expan…
