  • Beyond surveys

Open Access•Weipan Xu, Qiumeng Li et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2025

High-precision and wide coverage data on rural household wealth are essential for bridging national-level rural revitalization policies with micro-level rural entities, enabling the precise allocation of public resources. However, the vast number and dispersed distribution of rural communities in China make wealth data difficult to collect and scarce in availability. To address this challenge, this study proposes an integrated technical framework…

  • Is there a link between city characteristics and shared e-bike utilisation? Evidence from China

Open Access•Qiumeng Li, Yawen Qin et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2025

  • Sky-Scanning for Energy

Open Access•Yaofu Huang, Weipan Xu et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2024

The pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals has highlighted rural electricity consumption patterns, necessitating innovative analytical approaches. This paper introduces a novel method for predicting rural electricity consumption by leveraging deep convolutional features extracted from satellite imagery. The study employs a pretrained remote sensing interpretation model for feature extraction, streamlining the training process and enhancing …

  • Do shared E-bikes reduce urban carbon emissions

Open Access•Qiumeng Li, Franz Fuerst et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Transport Geography•2023•Cited by: 4•References: 7

Under the threat of climate change, many global cities nowadays are promoting shared commuting modes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Shared electric bikes (e-bikes) are emerging modes that compete with bikes, cars, or public transit. However, there is a lack of empirical evidence for the net effect of shared e-bikes on carbon emissions, as shared e-bikes can substitute for both higher carbon emissions modes and cleaner commuting modes. Using …

  • The impact of Covid-19 on bike-sharing travel pattern and flow structure

    Open Access•Qiumeng Li, Weipan Xu•ARTICLE•Cambridge Journal of Regions…•2022•References: 3

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically influenced urban mobility patterns. This paper explores the impact of the pandemic on the travel patterns and flow structure of bike-sharing, in Wuhan, China. We find that during the pandemic, bike-sharing became a major mode of transport and helped for the travel to hospitals. In post-pandemic Wuhan, more cycling neighbourhoods emerged in suburban areas, and the percentage of bike-sharing ridership in dense…
