Framing Institutional Corruption
This paper examines how institutional narratives of corruption shape moral judgment and trust. Using a sequential, exploratory mixed-methods design grounded in pragmatic epistemology, we first analyze public texts from three European cases (Airbus, FIFA, and Sarkozy) to identify four recurring frames: reformism, deferral, externalization, and minimization. We then translate these frames into controlled manipulations in a transparent Python simula…
Ethical imperatives and societal transformation
This article examines how Romania’s post-communist reparations regime operates in practice through a case study of a civil damages pathway created for victims of communist-era political persecution and their heirs. The problem addressed is the gap between formal recognition of persecution and the uneven delivery of material and moral redress. The article focuses on a family subjected to the Bărăgan deportations, a campaign of forced internal disp…
From puppets to principles
This paper examines the role of children’s puppet theatre in cultivating early moral sensibilities and stakeholder awareness. Through a thematic analysis of the Merlin Theatre’s repertoire in Timișoara, Romania, we explore how narratives foster empathy, fairness, integrity, and responsibility in children. Drawing on theories of moral development, virtue ethics, and stakeholder theory, we propose a conceptual model with three pillars: narrative pe…
What if Adam Smith Debated an AI Economist
Can AI‐driven capitalism sustain the moral preconditions of market order? We stage a dialogue between Adam Smith and a steel‐manned “EconAI” to test four Moral‐Market‐Fitness criteria: trustworthiness, fairness, non‐domination, and contestability, across 11 dilemmas. Our heterodox claim is anti‐sufficiency: procedural fixes and CSR‐centric governance do not, by themselves, convert optimization into moral market order. We argue for a two‐step path…
Enhancing economics education
As the world economy evolves, there is a growing need for educational methods that foster students’ creative problem-solving abilities. This study examines integrating Betty Edwards’ Upside-Down Drawing Exercise (UDE) into economics education to enhance cognitive and analytical skills. Using a mixed-methods approach with 90 economics students, the study reveals that the UDE helped solidify students’ understanding of theoretical economic concepts,…
