  • Komplementlausega predikaatidel põhinevate diskursusemarkerite kasutus eri registrites

Open Access•Tiit Hennoste, Külli Prillop et al.•ARTICLE•Keel ja Kirjandus•2022

Artiklis käsitleme diskursusemarkereid, mis on kujunenud kõnelejat tähistava tegevussubjektiga pealausest, millele järgneb komplementlause (Ma arvan, et see kana on surnud.). Selliseid markereid nimetatakse ingliskeelse terminiga complement-taking predicate markers (CTP-markers), meie kasutame eestikeelset terminit komplementlausega predikaatidel põhinevad markerid, lühidalt KP-markerid. KP-markerid esinevad eri keeltes (nt ingl I think, I guess…

  • Diskursusemarker (ma) arvan (et) direktiivides

    Open Access•Kirsi Laanesoo•ARTICLE•Keel ja Kirjandus•2022

Artikli teema on igapäevases suhtluses esinevad lausungid, milles on kaks komponenti ja kaks suhtlustegevust: komplementlausega predikaadil põhinev arvamust väljendav diskursusemarker (edaspidi KP-marker) (ma) arvan (et) ja direktiiv. Näide 1 illustreerib artikli fookuses olevaid lausungeid.1 Vestluslõik on kõne infotelefonile, milles helistaja (H) soovib teada, mida peaks inimene tegema, kui ta on töötuks jäänud. Open Access•Andriela Rääbis, Tiit Hennoste et al.•ARTICLE•The Yearbook of the Estonian…•2020

Responses to school-related complaints in Estonian everyday conversations The article targets complaint sequences in Estonian everyday conversations with a focus on responses to complaints. A complaint is a social action by which speakers express dissatisfaction with a certain state of affairs. The aim of complaining is to show that the matter is worth complaining about and to get affiliation from the recipient. For this research 40 school-relate…

  • Noticing Breaches with Nonpolar Interrogatives

Kirsi Laanesoo, Kirsi Laanesoo-Kalk et al.•ARTICLE•Research on Language and Social…•2017•Cited by: 3•References: 17

This article targets action formation in multimodal sequences. It shows how nonpolar interrogatives in Estonian are used for noticing breaches in others’ embodied conduct, focusing on kes (“who”)-interrogatives. In contrast to information questions with kes, a “noticing of a breach” does not seek an informative answer, which would be an identification of the grammatical actor of the action depicted in the interrogative. The actor is instead the a…

  • Targeting question’s inappositeness

    Open Access•Kirsi Laanesoo, Kirsi Laanesoo-Kalk•ARTICLE•Discourse Studies•2016•References: 16

This article examines the use of the kus ‘where’-interrogative clause in the second position of a question-answer adjacency pair in Estonian informal interaction. Applying an interactional linguistic approach, I will demonstrate how speakers use the kus-interrogative to point out the inappositeness of their interlocutor’s question. The use of the kus-interrogative in the second position implies that the questioner should already know the answer b…
