Correlates of daily memory lapses in older adults: Results from an intensive-longitudinal study
Daily memory lapses in older adults are primarily related to between-person differences in cognitive performance, health, and age awareness, rather than short-term daily fluctuations. These findings suggest that stable individual differences, rather than day-to-day changes, are most predictive of daily memory lapses. Day-to-day variations in memory lapses may instead be influenced by factors not captured in the present study, such as fatigue, str…
The relevance of perceived work environment and work activities for personality trajectories in midlife
OBJECTIVES: Work is an important developmental context in adulthood, yet little is known about how it contributes to personality trajectories in midlife. New Short Scale to Measure Workers’ Attitudes Toward the Implementation of Cooperative Robots in Industrial Work Settings: Instrument Development and Exploration of Attitude Structure
The implementation of new robotic technology at workplaces is oftentimes accompanied by social and organizational change processes. A new context-specific questionnaire was developed as a diagnostic tool to measure workers’ attitudes toward mobile cooperative manufacturing robots to provide a basis for managerial decisions and interventions—the “Attitudes toward Cooperative Industrial Robots Questionnaire” (ACIR-Q). Two samples, an online sample …
Structural differences in life satisfaction in a U.S. adult sample across age
OBJECTIVE: Many studies investigating age-related mean differences in life satisfaction disregard potential differences in the structure of the life satisfaction construct. Because developmental tasks at different life stages vary and thus the salience of specific life domains (e.g., health, finances, relationships, etc.) might differ, life satisfaction might differ between age groups in its underlying structure and meaning. METHOD: To address th…
