  • Mid-to Late Holocene landscape reconstruction of the Maye Estuary (Picardy, Northern France) and its implications for human occupation

Open Access•Stéphane Desruelle, Matthieu Ghilardi et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2021

  • Dating the bridge at Avignon (south France) and reconstructing the Rhone River fluvial palaeo-landscape in Provence from medieval to modern times

    Open Access•Matthieu Ghilardi, D C W Sanderson et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Archaeological Science…•2015•Cited by: 2•References: 8

  • Geophysical Signatures of a Roman and Early Medieval Necropolis

    Open Access•Y Quesnel, Abir Jrad et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological Prospection•2011•Cited by: 2•References: 3

The Roman and early medieval Richeaume XIII necropolis in Provence (France) was systematically studied using magnetic prospection and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT). Remains of a limestone-made building are embedded in a reddish clay formation bearing iron oxides. This produces an interesting negative magnetic anomaly, whereas the wall itself is resistive. Other dipolar magnetic anomalies are correlated with the location of sepulchres, e…

  • Localization and characterization of buried magnetic structures using a Multi-Scale Tomography. Application to archaeological structures on Fox-Amphoux site

    Open Access•Ginette Saracco, Pierre-Étienne Mathé et al.•ARTICLE•ArchéoSciences•2009

We want to characterize and localize the depth of archaeological structures from the measurement of magnetic potential anomalies above ground to have a non-destructive test of an archaeological site and to suggest a strategy of excavation. A class of tomography methods used in potential field theory are based on cross-correlation technique (Patella), Euler method or generalized Hilbert transform (Nabighian). New class of tomography methods is bas…
