  • Content validation of the SF-36v2® Health Survey Acute for use in hypoparathyroidism

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Laura Tesler Waldman et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2023

The study findings show that the items in the SF-36v2® are applicable to adults with HP. The overall high levels of endorsement of items provide strong evidence of the measure's content validity for this population. The SF-36v2 is therefore recommended for usage in clinical trials examining adults with HP, although it is recommended that this generic measure be supplemented with disease-specific instruments such as the recently developed Hypopara…

  • Living with hypoparathyroidism

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Laura Tesler Waldman et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2020

Findings provide substantial evidence of content validity for the validation-ready HPES-Impact in adults with HP

  • Assessing the impacts of having a child with achondroplasia on parent well-being

Open Access•Kathryn M Pfeiffer, Meryl Brod et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2020

The results improve our understanding of the experiences of parents of children with achondroplasia and provide qualitative evidence to support the content validity of the APEM. A psychometric study is needed to validate the measure

  • Understanding burden of illness for child growth hormone deficiency

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Suzanne Alolga et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2017

The burden of GHD in children and adolescents is considerable and not limited to short stature. The severity of GHD impact on children and adolescents appears to be variable and individualized, but these data indicate that early identification and growth hormone treatment may lead to fewer impacts

  • Development and validation of the Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathic Pain Impact (DPNPI) measure, a patient-reported outcome measure

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Steven I Blum et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2015

  • Assessing the impact of non-severe hypoglycemic events and treatment in adults

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Lise Højbjerre et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2015

  • Non-severe nocturnal hypoglycemic events

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Betsy Pohlman et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2012

People with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes experience NSNHEs. The range of impact on these patients is wide, from very mild to severe with a majority of participants experiencing strong impacts that limit their daily functioning. This finding suggests that NSNHEs are more impactful than previously believed

  • Examining the ability to detect change using the TRIM-Diabetes and TRIM-Diabetes Device measures

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Torsten Christensen et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2011

The total score as well as all domain scores of the TRIMs was significantly responsive over time, thus acceptable internal and external responsiveness of TRIM-D and TRIM-DD are concluded. To date, all validation evidence supports the use of these two measures in future clinical trials

  • ADHD burden of illness in older adults

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Eva M Schmitt et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2011

  • Patient treatment satisfaction after switching to NovoMix® 30 (BIAsp 30) in the IMPROVETM study

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Paul Valensi et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2010

Patients treated with NovoMix 30 reported improved treatment satisfaction, and the improvement is considered clinically meaningful to patients

  • Qualitative research and content validity

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Laura E Tesler et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2009

  • Maximizing the value of validation findings to better understand treatment satisfaction issues for diabetes

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Torsten Christensen et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2007

  • Responsiveness of the Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Quality of Life Scale (AAQoL)

    Open Access•Louis S Matza, Joseph A Johnston et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2007

  • Validation of the Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Quality-of-Life Scale (AAQoL)

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Joseph A Johnston et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2006

  • Measuring the Impact of Diabetes Through Patient Report of Treatment Satisfaction, Productivity and Symptom Experience

Open Access•Meryl Brod, Søren Skovlund et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2006

  • Patients' Experiences of Parkinson's Disease

Meryl Brod, Gerald A Mendelsohn et al.•ARTICLE•The Journals of Gerontology…•1998•Cited by: 3•References: 5

Patients' (n = 101) experiences of Parkinson's disease (PD) were studied through structured interviews. Oblique factor analysis produced three moderately intercorrelated clusters of items reflecting reported severity of motoric, cognitive, and psychological problems, respectively. Scales formed from the factors were correlated with demographic, disease-related, and psychosocial variables. The demographic variables were not significantly correlate…
