  • Association between exposure to greenspace and ECG abnormalities in China

Open Access•Zhaoyang Pan, Man Cao et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Our study found that higher exposure to greenspace was associated with a decreased risk of ECG abnormality, especially in urban areas. Our findings suggested that monthly exposure to greenspace might be beneficial to cardiovascular health, and greenspace provision and maintenance could be considered an important public health intervention in urban planning

  • The impact of retirement on blood pressure

Open Access•Jiarun Mi, Xueyan Han et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Retirement is associated with an increase in blood pressure level. There is a causal relationship between the increase in blood pressure levels of men and retirement. Policy-makers should pay extra attention to the health status of men and less educated people when adjusting retirement policies in the future

  • The Association Between Urbanization and Electrocardiogram Abnormalities in China

Open Access•Jiarun Mi, Xueyan Han et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Urban Health•2024•References: 2

The health effects of urbanization are controversial. The association between urbanization and reversible subclinical risks of cardiovascular diseases (e.g., electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities) has rarely been studied. This study aimed to assess the association between urbanization and ECG abnormalities in China based on the China National Stroke Screening Survey (CNSSS). We used changes in the satellite-measured impervious surfaces rate and n…

  • Assessing vaccine hesitancy using the WHO scale for caregivers of children under 3 years old in China

Open Access•Man Cao, Jinhong Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

Introduction Vaccine hesitancy may increase infectious disease burden and impede disease control efforts, while few studies have measured such a phenomenon with a standardized tool in China. This study aimed to test the validation of the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale (VHS) developed by the WHO SAGE Working Group among caregivers and examine demographic characteristics associated with caregiver hesitancy in six provinces of China. Methods Using a multis…

  • Parental preference for Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccination in Zhejiang Province, China

Open Access•Xianglin Wang, Yi Feng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Background: China is the only country in the world that has not included the Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccine in its National Immunization Program, making it more difficult to eliminate Hib-related diseases through Hib vaccination. It is necessary to study parental preferences for Hib vaccination to optimize vaccine promotion strategies in China. Objective: This study aimed to investigate Chinese parental preference for five attributes…

  • Can we have our cake and eat it too? Corporate social responsibility and employees’ eudaimonic well‐being and performance

Open Access•Man Cao, Shuming Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•Business Ethics, the Environment…•2022

Whereas extant studies on corporate social responsibility (CSR) have documented various favorable individual outcomes, potential social effects of CSR beyond mere economic influences, such as employees’ eudaimonic well‐being, are often overlooked. Drawing on a sensemaking perspective, our research examines how corporate social responsibility (CSR) leads to employees’ eudaimonic well‐being and enhances job performance. We used three‐source data co…
