María Lamuedra Graván, Concha Mateos Martín et al.•ARTICLE•Journalism Studies•2018•Cited by: 2•References: 7

The concept of journalism, its metatheory and, in particular, public service journalism is regulated by feedback between political models (legal and normative framework), academic precepts and social practices. Scant attention has been paid to date to the impact that these models have on citizens’ discourses, which is especially relevant at “critical junctures”, i.e. periods in which the old institutions are collapsing and require renovation. Hen…

The relationship between signs and human action is one of the most widely studied theories in art and communications. Humans are constantly producing new discourse and new discursive devices and the issue of the relationship between signs / action not only remains open, but is branching off and forming hybrids with other matters. This work explores one of its branches. We performed theoretical research on the foundations of video artivism, with t…

The emergence of Google in the field of bibliometrics through personal and collective indicators (researchers and journals) has affected the references of those who rely on impact factors and the counting of citations, particularly within the social sciences and the humanities. Google’s lists of the 100 most cited publications in nine different languages, which were updated in 2012 and 2013, allow us to carry out comparative analyses to assess th…

Open Access•José Manuel de Pablos Coello, Concha Mateos Martín et al.•ARTICLE•Historia y Comunicación Social•2014•Cited by: 1

The spanish journals that appear in the second quartile of Google Scholar Metrics (GSM) are not listed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). There are serious differences and one big coincidence between these two databases: they both belong to very large multinational information companies, Google and Thomson Reuters, whose sources of income are very different. While the access to Google Scholar Metrics is currently free, Thomson Reuters charges…
