  • Antisemitismus in Deutschland nach dem 7. Oktober 2023

Olaf Glöckner, Gunther Jikeli•BOOK•Antisemitismus in Deutschland…•2025

Anti-Semitism has never disappeared in Germany. After 1945, it was considered by many to be a marginal phenomenon, mainly among the unteachables in the far-right milieu. But since the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023, anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel have become so obvious that they can no longer be overlooked. In this volume, renowned researchers show how far anti-Semitism has now penetrated into many social milieus and the devastating effect…

Syrian refugees have become a significant minority in Germany over the past decade, with approximately one million now residing in the country. Most of them plan to stay and are eager to integrate into German society. A comprehensive review of the available survey data from the last two decades provides a glimpse into the views of Muslims and Jews of each other in countries where both communities are a minority. It is based on 52 surveys from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Ger…

  • Is Religion Coming Back as a Source for Antisemitic Views

    Open Access•Gunther Jikeli•ARTICLE•Religions•2020•References: 2

The most violent American and European antisemites in the 21st century, including not only Jihadists but also white (and black) supremacist terrorist, made some reference to religion in their hatred of Jews. This is surprising. Religious antisemitism is often seen as a relic of the past. It is more associated with pre-modern societies where the role of religion was central to the social and political order. However, at the end of the 19th century…

Il dresse un état des lieux de l'antisémitisme dans les deux cas, puis présente les différentes approches destinées à en expliquer les causes.
