Activity space patterns and loneliness
INTRODUCTION: This study examines the association between activity space and loneliness, hypothesizing that individuals with broader (i.e., more spatially extensive and diverse) daily movement patterns are less likely to experience loneliness. METHODS: Data were derived from the COHESION Study, a nationwide Canadian cohort. Participants (N = 1176) who completed the VERITAS map questionnaire were included. The primary outcome, loneliness, was asse…
Spatiotemporal clusters of acute respiratory infections associated with socioeconomic, meteorological, and air pollution factors in South Punjab, Pakistan
Our study provides evidence about environmental and socio-economic factors significantly associated with ARI incidence. In addition, this study provides the first baseline of ARI cases in Pakistan to plan for intervention and adaptation strategies and may be replicated in other regions of comparable settings worldwide
Epidemiological characteristics and initial spatiotemporal visualisation of Covid-19 in a major city in the Middle East
Older adults and people with severe co-morbidities were at higher risk for developing serious complications due to COVID-19. Applying spatiotemporal methods to identify the transmission trends and high-risk areas can rapidly be documented, thereby assisting policymakers in designing and implementing tailored interventions to control and prevent not only COVID-19 but also other rapidly spreading epidemics/pandemics
