Coupling Coordinated Development of Urbanization and Soil Conservation Ratio in the Loess Plateau Region of China
With the implementation of various ecological restoration and regional development policies, both urbanization and soil conservation in the Loess Plateau (LP) have advanced substantially, but conflicts between development and the ecological environment are becoming increasingly prominent. Soil conservation is a key regulating ecosystem service, and understanding its interaction and coupling mechanism with urbanization is crucial for achieving sus…
Structural Shocks of Uncertainties on Energy-Inflation Spillovers
This study investigates time-frequency spillovers between international energy prices and China’s disaggregated PPI/CPI using TVP-VAR-BK methodology, and further evaluates the structural effects of uncertainties on energy-inflation spillovers through quantile regression techniques. The findings indicate that: 1) Stronger linkages exist in the energy-PPI system than in the energy-CPI system (40.61 percent vs 31.87 percent TCI), with producer mater…
Developing SWAT‐S to strengthen the soil erosion forecasting performance of the SWAT model
Soil erosion is an important cause of global land degradation, and accurate monitoring of it is essential. The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), a distributed hydrological model, is an advanced technique for predicting soil erosion at watershed scale. However, as the erosion framework was established in gently sloping land, SWAT is limited in predicting soil erosion in some highland and mountainous regions. Therefore, this study suggested a …
Evaluation of the impact of the Gully Land Consolidation Project on runoff under extreme rainfall
Extreme rainfall is an important driver of soil erosion and land damage. The Gully Land Consolidation program (GLCP) was first launched in 2011 as a major land reclamation practice to increase farmland in the Loess Plateau of China. Studying the impact of artificial projects on hydrology can help humans to respond to the various water issues, but the assessment of the effects of the GLCP on extreme rainfall‐induced water runoff at watershed scale…
Does the government procurement market favor corporate social responsibility in a weak institution? Evidence from China
This study investigates, in the context of a weak institution, the single and interactive effects of firms’ nonmarket strategies in China’s government procurement market. Based on transaction cost and signal theory, using data pertaining to Chinese government procurement contracts from 2016 to 2018, this study also provides evidence that superior corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance enables firms to obtain more government procurement…
Asymmetric adjustment of inventory investment
Based on China's monthly data from January 2006 to June 2018, this paper uses the symmetric regressive distributed lag model (ARDL) and nonlinear asymmetric regressive distributed lag model (NARDL) to examine the impact of the real interest rate, products’ shortage costs and products’ selling prices on China's overall inventory investment, and focuses on the asymmetric impact of the three factors on inventory investment. The empirical results sho…
