  • Not only Anti-dam: Simplistic Rendering of Complex Salween Communities in Their Negotiation for Development in Thailand

    This chapter considers how communities along the Salween River in Thailand have been “rendered” simply as anti-dam and presents a nuanced counter-argument, based on ethnographic research, that illustrates that these communities are instead complex and strategic in their negotiations over development.
