  • ‘So much compassion, so much caring’

Open Access•Linda Hamrin Nesby, Linda Nesby•ARTICLE•Nordlit•2026

This article explores how Naja Marie Aidt’s novel Exercises in Darkness (2024) contributes to the interdisciplinary field of caring science. The novel belongs to the emerging genre ‘curography’, which focuses on the caregiver’s perspective, and it expands Katie Eriksson’s caritative care theory by addressing this theory’s underexplored language of care. • Tuberkulose som tegn på virkelighet i Hamsuns Victoria (1898)

    Open Access•Linda Hamrin Nesby•ARTICLE•Nordlit•2020

In 2015 and 2016, the sons of Australian singer and songwriter Nick Cave and of the Danish author Naja Marie Aidt both died in fall accidents related to substance-induced psychosis. Subsequently, Cave released the album “Skeleton Tree” (2016) and Aidt published the book “Har døden taget noget fra dig så giv det tilbage” (If death has taken something from you, then give it back) (2017), which can both be linked to how they worked through the death…

  • Youth blogging and serious illness

    Linda Hamrin Nesby, Anita Salamonsen•ARTICLE•Medical Humanities•2015•Cited by: 3•References: 5

In recent years, a growing number of young people who experience illness tend to blog about it. In this paper, we question whether and how illness blogs illustrate the intercommunicative aspect of blogging by bringing forth both the literary concept of the implied reader and the sociological concepts of empowerment and agency in the analysis. We argue that young people blogging about serious illness demonstrate the inherent intercommunicative pot…
