  • Exploring seasonal variation of conception in India

Brijesh Singh, Abhishek Saraswat•ARTICLE•Mathematical Population Studies•2026

Seasonal variations in conception and birth have been frequently reported within the global human population. Although births occur throughout the year, certain months record consistently higher frequencies than others. Seasonal variation of conception/birth is a complex phenomenon; numerous factors like climate change, geographical conditions, and environmental factors (temperature, rainfall, and humidity) may affect the risk of conception. This…

  • Analyzing Menstruating Interval to the First Conception

Open Access•Brijesh Singh, Brijesh P Singh et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Population and Social…•2025

Survival analysis techniques analyze the time-to-event data. In survival analysis, there are two essential methods: Semiparametric and parametric methods. The semiparametric Cox proportional hazard (CPH) model is frequently used to analyze demographic survival data. However, the presumption of proportional hazard (PH) is not always met in real-life data. Meanwhile, one can use parametric Accelerated Failure Time (AFT) models as an alternative whe…

  • Steganalysis of Digital Images Using Deep Fractal Network

Open Access•Brijesh Singh, Arijit Sur et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2021

In the recent literature on steganalysis, it has been observed that a deeper network is, in general, preferred for detecting low tone embedding noise, e.g., SRNet. However, very recently, a deep model, called FractalNet, became popular, which is based on self-similarity and grows deeper and wider by maintaining a balance between depth and width using a recurrent adaptation of a fundamental building block. In this work, the concept of the FractalN…

  • Modeling tempo of Covid ‐19 pandemic in India and significance of lockdown

    Open Access•Brijesh Singh, Gunjan Singh•ARTICLE•Journal of Public Affairs•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 1

A very special type of pneumonic disease that generated the COVID-19 pandemic was first identified in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and is spreading all over the world. The ongoing outbreak presents a challenge for data scientists to model COVID-19, when the epidemiological characteristics of the COVID-19 are yet to be fully explained. The uncertainty around the COVID-19 with no vaccine and effective medicine available until today create addition…

  • Human Population Genetics II. Distribution of ABO Blood Groups in Varanasi and Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh

Open Access•B N Singh, Brijesh Singh et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Ecology•1997

Data are presented on the phenotypes and allele frequency distribution of the ABO blood groups in 2 random samples each derived from Varanasi and Sultanpur. The application of Hardy Weinberg Law to the observed data demonstrated perfect genetic equilibrium in all the 4 sampled studied. However, the χ2-test demonstrated significant heterogeneity between the random samples of each area

  • Human Population Genetics I. A Preliminary Study of Some Morphological and Genetic Traits in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

    Open Access•Swarn Lata, B N Singh et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Ecology•1996

A random sample of 500 subjects from Varanasi was studied to obtain the frequency distribution of four morphological and genetical trails viz., widow’s peak, attached ear lobe, dimple in chin and PTC tasting ability
