  • Exploring Factors Influencing Cervical Cancer Prevention Behaviors: Unveiling Perspectives of Conservative Muslim American Women in Virginia

Open Access•Asmaa Namoos, Vanessa Sheppard et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Religion and Health•2023

  • Projected values of thermal and precipitation climate indices for the broader Carpathian region based on Euro-Cordex simulations

Open Access•Nóra Skarbit, János Unger et al.•ARTICLE•Hungarian Geographical Bulletin•2022

Since our climate is in a rapid changing phase, it is crucial to get information about the regional patterns of basic climatic parameters and indices. The EURO-CORDEX project provides high quality regional climate model outputs, but these raw datasets are not convenient for the application in wider geoscience studies. According to the authors’ knowledge, there is a lack in published spatial information about basic climate parameters and indices i…

  • Projections of the urban and intra-urban scale thermal effects of climate change in the 21st century for cities in the Carpathian Basin

Open Access•Tamás Gál, Nóra Skarbit et al.•ARTICLE•Hungarian Geographical Bulletin•2021

This study evaluates the pattern of a nighttime climate index namely the tropical nights (Tmin ≥ 20oC) during the 21st century in several different sized cities in the Carpathian Basin. For the modelling, MUKLIMO_3 microclimatic model and the cuboid statistical method were applied. In order to ensure the proper representation of the thermal characteristics of an urban landscape, the Local Climate Zone (LCZ) system was used as landuse information.…

  • Numerical modelling for analysis of the effect of different urban green spaces on urban heat load patterns in the present and in the future

Open Access•Tamás Gál, Sándor István Mahó et al.•ARTICLE•Computers Environment and Urban…•2021

This paper focuses on urban green spaces in terms of climate and human thermal comfort containing their effect on heat load mitigation. It incorporates a modelling study in which the role of green spaces was investigated in terms of heat stress modification by applying MUKLIMO_3 model. During the experiment, the thermal effects of dense trees, scattered trees, grasslands and mixed green infrastructure has been investigated in the case of Szeged (…
