  • Processes Linking Shared Spiritual Practices, Spiritual Intimacy, and Sanctification of Marriage to Attachment to Spouse and Relationship Satisfaction

    We assessed pathways linking attachment and depression in college students ( N = 190) to investigate the interplay of mediators, namely, social support and simultaneous engagement in positive and negative religious coping. Moderated serial mediation models revealed directions in which attachment predicted perceptions of social support, which then predicted negative religious coping and depression.     The effectiveness of a theology-focused marriage preparation program was tested for a group of Catholic couples (N=200). Each couple had been married for less than five years and participated in the same program.
