Psychometric Properties and Confirmatory Factor Analysis of the Love Myths Scale in a Comparative Sample by Gender and Across Generational Groups
Análisis de las actitudes hacia el hecho multicultural en una muestra de estudiantes españoles de Magisterio
Multiculturalism is a fact that has its impact on the educational system and demands attention to the training of teachers to educate in diversity. Research with a quantitative approach was developed based on a single data collection method with an ordinal Likert scale character, based on a non-experimental, exploratory, longitudinal, and descriptive design. To obtain the information of applied a questionnaire (Scale of Attitudes towards the Mult…
Effects of a Diabetes Self-Management Education Program on Glucose Levels and Self-Care in Type 1 Diabetes
(1) Background: Several factors have been associated with the success of health education programs, such contact time, with better results being obtained from more intensive programs and early outcome measurement. Nurses play an essential role in educating patients with diabetes both in disease-management, therapeutic education, and healthy lifestyles promotion as well as emotion management. The objective was to evaluate the effectiveness of a nu…
Effects of Nursing Diabetes Self-Management Education on Glycemic Control and Self-Care in Type 1 Diabetes
(1) Background: Type 1 diabetes is a chronic disease that creates a high demand and responsibility for patient self-care. Patient education, self-care training and the management of derived complications are great challenges for nurses. The objective of this project is to evaluate the efficacy of a therapeutic education program for type 1 diabetes. (2) Methods: Participants recruited to the study will be adult patients with diagnosed type 1 diabe…
The Short-Term Effect of Dynamic Tape versus the Low-Dye Taping Technique in Plantar Fasciitis
The effectiveness of Dynamic Tape ® , compared to that of the low-dye taping, has a major benefit with regard to pain intensity from fasciitis, although it does not produce changes in the ankle range of motion and foot posture index. Consequently, Dynamic Tape ® can be considered a taping technique with beneficial effects on pain intensity in the provisional approach to plantar fasciitis
International Multicenter Study on Drug Consumption in Nursing Students
High rates of illicit drug use were found among nursing students, as well as factors that can influence consumption such as nationality or gender. These results can serve as a basis for the development of educational and policy interventions within nursing schools that are based on evidence, with significant implications for nurse educators, academic administrators, and practice
Custom-Made Foot Orthoses as Non-Specific Chronic Low Back Pain and Pronated Foot Treatment
Excessive foot pronation has been reported as being related to chronic low back pain symptoms and risk factors in sports-specific pathologies. Compensating custom-made foot orthotics treatment has not been entirely explored as an effective therapy for chronic low back pain (CLBP). This study aims to observe the effects of custom-made foot orthoses, in subjects with foot pronation suffering from CLBP. A total of 101 patients with nonspecific CLBP …
Lived Experiences of African Migrants Crossing the Strait of Gibraltar to Europe
This study would help healthcare professionals to better understand this complex reality and deliver culturally adapted care. Knowledge of the starting reality of these populations can help health professionals to incorporate a cross-cultural approach that improves the relational, ethical and affective competences to provide quality care to the migrant population, as well as the development of health measures to fight against inequalities suffere…
Randomized Clinical Trial
Background: There is little scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of strengthening exercises on the foot's intrinsic musculature in improving the lower limb on the statics and dynamics in healthy individuals. Method: To evaluate the effect on foot posture with regard to the reinforcement of the short foot exercise (SFE) compared to another without a recognized biomechanical action, which we called the "non-biomechanical function" (NBF) …
Analysis and Assessment through Mechanical Static Compression Tests of Damping Capacity in a Series of Orthosis Plantar Materials Used as Supports
High plantar pressure is the cause of multiple types of foot injuries and one of the main reasons for patient visits in podiatry and traumatology. Therefore, there is a need to acquire specific tools to address such injuries. The aim of this study was to determine the absorption capacity of selected materials applied as plantar supports and their response to pressure. The study had a cross-sectional design. A total of 21 materials were chosen and…
Influence of Personality Traits and Its Interaction with the Phenomenon of Bullying
Bullying affects thousands of teenagers worldwide and has devastating consequences. Various studies suggest that the personality of teenagers is a risk profile for bullying. The aim of this study was to analyse the relationship between the personality of teenagers aged 14 to 16 years from three education centres located in the province of Seville (Spain) and bullying in any of its victim or aggressor roles. A multi-centre cross-sectional observat…
