Co‐Design of a Registry‐Based Tailored Follow‐up Service Intervention for People Living With Stroke
BACKGROUND: Often people experience ongoing health challenges after stroke. The Australian Stroke Clinical Registry collects patient-reported outcomes after stroke. Many patients report challenges that are potentially addressable through additional support. AIMS: To co-design a registry-based, hospital-initiated, follow-up service for people who report major health-related challenges between 90 and 180 days after their stroke. METHODS: Iterative,…
Optimising computer aided detection to identify intra-thoracic tuberculosis on chest x-ray in South African children
Diagnostic tools for paediatric tuberculosis remain limited, with heavy reliance on clinical algorithms which include chest x-ray. Computer aided detection (CAD) for tuberculosis on chest x-ray has shown promise in adults. We aimed to measure and optimise the performance of an adult CAD system, CAD4TB, to identify tuberculosis on chest x-rays from children with presumptive tuberculosis. Chest x-rays from 620 children
Canadian Alliance for Healthy Hearts and Minds
Information collected in the indigenous cohort will be used to assist communities to develop local management strategies for chronic disease, and can be used collectively to understand the contextual, environmental, socioeconomic, and biological determinants of differences in health status in harmony with First Nations beliefs and reality
Operational challenges in managing Isoniazid Preventive Therapy in child contacts
IPT delivery to children remains an operational challenge, especially in high TB-HIV burden communities. A tool to improve IPT management and targeting sputum smear and/or culture-positive TB child contacts may overcome some of these challenges and should be developed and piloted in such settings
