Prehospital Assessment Units as a supplement to the existing acute care service in the Region of Southern Denmark
The Region of Southern Denmark is implementing three Prehospital Assessment Units. These are staffed with paramedics who, under the supervision of a physician from the local emergency department, assess and treat acute ill patients on-site as an alternative to ambulance conveyance and hospital visits.
