Der Artikel basiert auf Erfahrungen aus der Werkstatt des Großen Akademischen Wörterbuchs Deutsch-Tschechisch (GAWDT). Dieses langfristige Forschungsprojekt erfasst nicht nur den allgemeinen Wortschatz der deutschen Gegenwartssprache, sondern auch Kernbereiche der Terminologien, die zu kleineren zweisprachigen Spezialwörterbüchern ausgebaut werden. The article describes in a chronological overview the lexicographical processing of the entry cikán (‘Gypsy’) and its derivatives which are now perceived as more or less discriminatory and establishes historical and political references.
