  • Improvement of collapsing problematic soils on the sabzevar-mashhad railway route (northeast of Iran) using traditional additives

Open Access•Hamid Mahmood Hashemi, Abdollah Yazdi et al.•ARTICLE•Nexo Revista Científica•2023•References: 1

Collapsing soils are among the problematic soils in geotechnical engineering. These soils have a relatively good resistance in their natural state with low humidity, but in case of saturation without change in the incoming load or subjected to vibration force, they settle a lot and in many cases, it will cause cracking or destruction of foundations, roads, railway lines, dams, pipelines and other existing structures. Collapsing soils are scattere…

  • Petrographic and Geochemical Studies of the Host Rock of the Chaghoo Copper Orebody in the Southwest of Karaj

Open Access•Alireza Rakhshani Moghadam, Mohammad Lotfi et al.•ARTICLE•Nexo Revista Científica•2021•References: 2

The study area is located 5 km southwest of Mahdasht city in Karaj on the Urmia-Dokhtar magmatic arc. In this area, Eocene volcanic and pyroclastic rocks are observed including basaltic andesite lavas, andesite, Trachyandesiticand trachyte lavas, tuff, and ignimbrite, along with plutonic rocks. There are two spectra of basic and acidic for the rocks in the area, of which basic rocks are chemically calc-alkaline in nature.Among the signs of subduc…

  • Study of the petrography and tectonic settings of sills in Lavasanat district, Tehran (north of Iran)

Open Access•Mehdi Bina, Mohammad Ali Arian et al.•ARTICLE•Nexo Revista Científica•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 1

The study area is located in Lavasanat District in the northeast of Tehran in Central Alborz zone. The outcrops are mainly linked to Karaj Formation, which belongs to the upper Eocene to Oligocene periods. In the study area, there are various plutonic rocks that are identified in the form of numerous dike and sill on the ground. These sills are injected in between sedimentary layers. The rocks forming the sills include the spectrum of gabbro, gab…
