Horn Objects From the Tashtyk Funeral Site ‘Bely Yar-3’ (The Altaisky District, the Republic of Khakasia)
The article presents the results of the analysis of four items made of antlers discovered by the archaeological team from Khakass State University during excavations of the Tashtyk funerary site ‘Bely Yar-3’. The publication presents materials from the excavations of 6 burial mounds belonging to four separate Early Iron Age burial grounds. The investigations were carried out in the Askizsky District of the Republic of Khakassia as part of rescue works in the construction site of the second railway track at the “Chartykovsky - Kamyshta” section. The publication contains materials from the three Late Bronze mounds. They are located in close proximity to the railway and highway, which affected the shape of the mounds and stone structures. The article presents an analysis of the raw materials of carved bones from the Yugachi-2 site. In the course of field archaeological works, the recovered materials made it possible to interpret the studied object as a settlement complex. The items with bone carving are described. The article presents results of studying the elemental composition and manufacturing technology of turquoise jewelry found in barrow 1 of the Ak-Dag I burial ground of the early Scythian time. Scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy were used to determine the elemental composition of the mineral.
