  • Thank God We Are Creatures: Hannah Arendt's Cryptotheology

    Open Access•Rafael Zawisza, Rafał Zawisza•ARTICLE•Religions•2018•References: 17

Main concern of this article is to grasp the interpretative matrix of Hannah Arendt's doctorate, which, I claim, is the central organising net for her other writings. I call this matrix "cryptotheological defence of the secular world". In order to show its functionality, I have to determine the character of Arendt's discourse in relation to theology and philosophy on the basis of her doctoral thesis from 1929. The main attention will be focused o…

  • Wprowadzenie: Teologia jako krytyka

    Open Access•Mikołaj Ratajczak, Rafał Zawisza•ARTICLE•Praktyka Teoretyczna•2015•Cited by: 1•References: 2

This is an introduction to the issue of “Theoretical Practice” (“Praktyka Teoretyczna”), entitled “Economic Theologies” (no. 3, 2015), edited by Mikołaj Ratajczak and Rafał Zawisza. It contains contextual explanation of the theoretical field projected by the Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben, namely a critique of the economic theology elaborated on the basis of early Christian theological debates concerning the concept of divine “oikonomia”. Th…

  • Dyskretna przekora Giorgia Agambena

    Open Access•Rafał Zawisza•ARTICLE•Praktyka Teoretyczna•2015

Many critics accuse Giorgio Agamben of an ahistoricism inherent to his thought. Recently, such criticism was put forward by Alberto Toscano, who formulated it referring to Hans Blumenberg’s refusal of the secularisation thesis and his theory of epochal shifts. According to Toscano, due to the acceptance of the Schmittian notion of secularisation, based on a historical substantialism, Agamben is not only unfaithful to the Foucaultian methodology w…

  • Odbezpieczyć teologię albo dać jej zginąć (uwagi o esejach Jacoba Taubesa)

    Open Access•Rafał Zawisza•ARTICLE•Praktyka Teoretyczna•2013

  • Ocalić to, co się da. Witalistyczna interpretacja rozprawy doktorskiej Hanny Arendt pt. O pojęciu miłości u Augustyna

    Open Access•Rafał Zawisza•ARTICLE•Praktyka Teoretyczna•2012

This article is a presentation of Hannah Arendt’s doctoral thesis publishedin 1929 and devoted to the notion of love in Augustine (Der Liebesbegriff beiAugustin). Its aim is to demonstrate the originality of Arendt’s work towards hermajor influence and object of criticism – the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. Herconcept of natality, derived from Augustinian thought, opposes to being-towards--death. This movement makes a different conception of su…
