Measuring Sustainable Career
Research on sustainable careers often overlooks professionals in under-represented regions. In dynamic labor markets, such as Latin America, there is limited evidence on how individuals build meaningful and healthy career paths over time. Guided by the sustainable careers model, this study addresses this gap by validating a Spanish version of the career sustainability scale and testing its predictive value in the Mexican context. Two studies were…
Psychometric properties of the ultra-short measure Utrecht Work Engagement Scale for Students (Uwes-3S)
To addresses the lack of brief, validated tools to assess student engagement in online universities, the present study examined the psychometric properties of the UWES-3S in a sample of 394 online students (72.8% women). Results demonstrated a one-factor structure with good internal consistency (α = .81), and test-retest (.80). Rasch analyses indicated an appropriate scale functioning, item difficulty distribution, and minimal gender-related bias…
A mixed-method of the happy-productive
The present study aims to examine the relationship between job wellbeing (emotions at work) and job performance (in-role, extra-role) and their connection in remote work using open questions. The sample consists of 297 Brazilian remote workers. Using a mixed-method approach, the findings reveal a 4-cluster pattern associated with the relationship between job wellbeing and job performance (i.e., 9-to-5, entrenched, engaged, and burned-out). Moreov…
Psychometric validation of the Spanish version of the life engagement test
The Life Engagement Test (LET) consists of a fast instrument to measure the extent to which individuals identify and participate in valued activities and, therefore, engage in life. It is also a fundamental component of psychological well-being. This study aims to validate the Spanish version of the Life Engagement Test (LET-ES). First, the LET was translated using back-translation methodology, after which a pilot study was tested on 41 individua…
Academic engagement in university students. The mediator role of Psychological Capital as personal resource
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a deterioration in the quality of life and, particularly, the mental health of university students. This situation highlights the need to offer coping programmes and preventive mental health measures. The effectiveness of self-care programmes designed to increase well-being in students has hardly been studied, although promising effects have been found in some studies in the work context (Gomez- Borges et al., 202…
