The medieval settlement in ibot (Cnepite) was investigated in 2012 through archaeological excavations determined by the archaeological discharge of the site when the Al, Ortie -Sibiu motorway (sector Ortie -Sebe was under construction). The large number of isolated towers scattered in different spots of the hill on which the Dacian fortress at Blidaru was built intrigued the archaeologists right from the beginning of the excavations.
