  • The Integrated Choice and Latent Variable Model for Exploring the Mechanisms of Pedestrian Route Choice

Open Access•Cheng-Jie Jin, Cheng‐Jie Jin et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2025

The Integrated Choice and Latent Variable (ICLV) model has been widely applied in travel behavior studies, yet its use in understanding pedestrian route choice remains very limited. This paper seeks to address this gap by analyzing data from a series of controlled pedestrian route choice experiments. Four groups of experimental runs were designed, each involving two route options. The first three groups introduced specific controls: bottlenecks, …

  • Understanding residents' responses towards disaster-related urban emergency management

Open Access•Huiqiao Hou, Pengjun Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Disaster…•2025

  • Association of dietary patterns with anxiety and depression symptoms in people living with HIV

Open Access•Zizheng Nie, Huiling Tang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The findings indicate that adherence to the egg-dairy pattern and the vegetable-fruit pattern is associated with a reduced risk of anxiety and depressive symptoms among individuals living with HIV. Diet is acknowledged as a modifiable risk factor for experiencing anxiety and depression symptoms, providing valuable insights for potential precision health interventions for individuals living with HIV

  • Exploring the Pedestrian Route Choice Behaviors by Machine Learning Models

Open Access•Cheng-Jie Jin, Cheng‐Jie Jin et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2024

To investigate pedestrian route choice mechanisms from a perspective distinct from that employed in discrete choice models (DCMs), this study utilizes machine learning models and employs SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) for model interpretation. The data used in this paper come from several pedestrian flow experiments with two routes, which were recorded by UAV. Our findings indicate that logistic regression (similar to a binary logit model) …

  • Examining the impact of the urban transportation system on tangible and intangible vitality at the city-block scale in Nanjing, China

Open Access•Liu Yang, Mingbo Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning B Urban…•2024

Cities’ transportation systems have substantial impacts on urban vitality. Given the increasing availability of data on residents’ activities, cities’ tangible/intangible vitality can be analyzed more accurately. This study examined the associations of tangible and intangible vitality with transportation system features, specifically exploring various transportation modes’ accessibility, features related to block forms, and border vacuums at a bl…

  • Geological Hazard Assessment of Secondary Collapses Due to Volcanic Earthquakes on Changbai Mountain in China

Open Access•Zengkai Pan, Qiuling Lang et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2023

In recent years, the volcanic activity of Changbai Mountain has been accompanied by several earthquakes, and the frequent human engineering activities have led to a gradual increase in the number of collapses in the region, which severely impacts residents’ lives and property safety. In northeastern China, the Changbai Mountain area in the southeastern Jilin Province is a typical mountain environment. This paper selects 12 evaluation indicators t…

  • Dynamic pricing of free-floating carsharing networks with sensitivity to travellers’ attitudes towards risk

Open Access•Chenyang Wu, Scott Le Vine et al.•ARTICLE•Transportation•2022

  • Sentiment analysis of popular-music references to automobiles, 1950s to 2010s

Open Access•Chenyang Wu, Scott Le Vine et al.•ARTICLE•Transportation•2022

In recent years, there has been a scholarly debate regarding the decrease in automobile-related mobility indicators (car ownership, driving license holding, VMT, etc.). Broadly speaking, two theories have been put forward to explain this trend: (1) economic factors whose impacts are well-understood in principle, but whose occurrence among young adults as a demographic sub-group had been overlooked, and (2) less well-understood shifts in cultural …
