Barriers and facilitators for implementing lifestyle-related treatment modalities in osteoarthritis
PURPOSE: To identify barriers and facilitators as perceived by primary and secondary healthcare professionals (HCPs) when implementing lifestyle-related treatment modalities (LRTMs) in patients with hip/knee osteoarthritis (OA). METHODS: A cross-sectional study. A Dutch online survey was distributed among eight different disciplines of primary and secondary HCPs. Potential barriers and facilitators were identified based on participants' responses…
Steering Does Affect Biophysical Responses in Asynchronous, but Not Synchronous Submaximal Handcycle Ergometry in Able-Bodied Men
Real-life daily handcycling requires combined propulsion and steering to control the front wheel. Today, the handcycle cranks are mostly mounted synchronously unlike the early handcycle generations. Alternatively, arm cycle ergometers do not require steering and the cranks are mostly positioned asynchronously. The current study aims to evaluate the effects of combining propulsion and steering requirements on synchronous and asynchronous submaxima…
Trajectories of health-related quality of life among people with a physical disability and/or chronic disease during and after rehabilitation
Most of the people who participated in a physical activity promotion programme obtained a relatively stable but moderate HR-QoL. The identified HR-QoL trajectories among our heterogeneous cohort are disease-overarching. Our findings suggest that people in rehabilitation may benefit from person-centred advice on management of fatigue and pain (e.g. activity pacing) and the acceptance of the disability
Changes in life satisfaction in persons with spinal cord injury during and after inpatient rehabilitation
Diverging patterns of change were found and that were interpreted as adaptation or scale recalibration. Recalibration could also be considered healthy rebalancing after SCI. Being able to compare different LS ratings can facilitate the interpretation of change in and stability of LS
