Impact of an exercise and health education program for health promotion in textile workers
Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are highly prevalent among manufacturing workers and represent a major cause of pain, functional limitation, reduced work ability and productivity loss, particularly in textile settings characterized by repetitive upper-limb tasks and sustained postures. Despite recommendations supporting exercise and education as first-line strategies, scalable workplace-embedded programs remain insufficiently implemented. …
Is the dominant leg also the stronger leg in vertical and horizontal jump performance in young male soccer players
Background Unilateral actions are important in soccer and may create functional differences between the lower limbs. It is unclear whether the dominant leg, usually defined as the preferred kicking leg, corresponds to the stronger limb in unilateral jump tasks. This study aimed to examine the association between dominant leg preference and the strongest leg, and to compare jump performance between dominant and non-dominant legs across age groups …
Assessment of Spinal Range of Motion and Musculoskeletal Discomfort in Forklift Drivers. A Cross-Sectional Study
Forklifts are commonly used in industrial supply chains to transport heavy loads. Forklift drivers have the risk of developing musculoskeletal discomfort derived from the movement pattern required at work. This research aimed to investigate the spinal range of motion (ROM) and musculoskeletal discomfort of forklift drivers and compare it with a control group. Forklift drivers (39 males) and office workers (31 males) were recruited to assess cervi…
Effect of a Long Exercise Program in the Reduction of Musculoskeletal Discomfort in Office Workers
The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of a six week exercise program to reduce the muscle tone of the trapezius and musculoskeletal discomfort (MED) of office workers. Twenty-six workers performed an exercise program based on: (1) stretching of cervical and/or dorsal region; (2) joint mobility of shoulders and rachis; (3) strengthening deep stabilizer and core muscles; and (4) scapula stabilizing exercises. A Myoton device was used t…
