Association between comprehensive exposure to multiple occupational hazardous factors and telomere length with hypertension in male steel workers
Background Steel workers are often exposed to various occupational hazards over the long term, which may be associated with hypertension. Previous studies mainly focused on the relationship between single occupational hazard and hypertension, but the comprehensive effects of multiple occupational hazards and the potential regulation of telomere length are still unclear. This study aims to investigate the relationship between combined exposure to …
Response of Plant Phylogenetic Structure to Plateau Pika ( Ochotona curzoniae ) Disturbance on Alpine Meadow of Qinghai‐Tibetan Plateau
Plant community construction is influenced by bottom‐up processes, such as environmental factors, and top‐down processes, such as herbivore disturbances. With climate change and overgrazing, the stability of plant community structure and function decreases, and more land at risk of degradation. However, the response of the plant community to interference from native herbivores under similar environmental conditions remains unclear. Plateau pika (…
Automatic Detection for Cropland Destruction and Reclamation in Coal‐Grain Composite Region Using Long‐Term Landsat Imagery
The eastern plains of China are home to numerous “coal‐grain composite regions,” where extensive underground coal mining has led to widespread land subsidence and cropland destruction, profoundly affecting regional ecological environments, agricultural production, and food security. This study proposes an automatic method for detecting cropland destruction and reclamation. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived from long‐term L…
Effects of air pollution and noise exposure on occupational hearing loss in oil workers
Air pollution and noise exposure independently and synergistically increase OHL risk in oil workers. AQCI and NO 2 , combined with noise, are critical risk factors. These findings underscore the need for integrated exposure monitoring, optimized ventilation, and enhanced personal protective measures in high-risk occupational settings
Cultural Heritage in Transition
Baxian folk music, centered around the Suona instrument, remains a vital element in the ritual fabric of Zhuang wedding ceremonies in Fengshan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This ethnographic study investigates the cultural, symbolic, and performative roles of Baxian music while also exploring its precarious status in an era shaped by rapid technological, economic, and sociocultural transformations. Drawing on fieldwork observat…
Political connection and credit risk of real estate enterprises
Although extensive research has examined the credit risk of real estate enterprises, the relationship between the political connection of real estate enterprises and these enterprises’ credit risk has not been formally studied. Using the panel data of 123 real estate listed companies in the Chinese stock market from 2008 to 2021, this paper finds a significant positive correlation between the political connection of private real estate listed com…
Tianqin
The Tianqin, often a plucked zither or lute, holds significant cultural and musical heritage in China. The objective of this study is to explore the evolutionary perspectives on the culture of a Chinese folk musical instrument by examining its playing techniques and cultural changes. Conducted in Longzhou County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, this study involved ethnographic fieldwork, including participant observation and interviews w…
Analysis of affordability differences for rare diseases in China
Although China has made progress in improving the affordability of rare diseases, significant differences persist between cities and diseases. The study suggests the optimization of the BMI system and explores independent funds and innovative insurance models to enhance the affordability of rare diseases, particularly those with extremely high treatment costs
