  • Generative AI governance in higher education

Open Access•Donrich Thaldar, Marietjie Botes et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Political Science•2025•References: 1

Introduction The rapid rise of generative artificial intelligence (Gen-AI), particularly large language models (LLMs), is reshaping the higher education landscape. Yet, there is limited empirical documentation of how African universities are integrating Gen-AI into teaching, learning, and research. This study presents a case study of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), one of the first African institutions to develop and implement comprehensi…

  • Mechanism of antimalarial action and mitigation of infection-mediated mitochondrial dysfunction by phyto-constituents of Andrographis paniculata ((Burm f.) Wall. ex Nees) in Plasmodium berghei-infecte…

Open Access•John Oludele Olanlokun, Adesola Bunmi Owolabi et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

  • GC-MS metabolomics reveals dysregulated lipid metabolic pathways and metabolites in diabetic testicular toxicity

Open Access•Ochuko L Erukainure, Shazia Mansoor et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

  • Buddleja saligna Willd (Loganiaceae) inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme activity in oxidative cardiopathy with concomitant modulation of nucleotide hydrolyzing enzymatic activities and dysregulate…

    Open Access•Ochuko L Erukainure, Chika I Chukwuma et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2020

  • Raffia palm (Raphia hookeri G. Mann & H. Wendl) wine modulates glucose homeostasis by enhancing insulin secretion and inhibiting redox imbalance in a rat model of diabetes induced by high fructose die…

    Open Access•Ochuko L Erukainure, Olajumoke A Oyebode et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2019

  • In Vitro Chemo-Preventative Activity of Strelitzia Nicolai Aril Extract Containing Bilirubin

    Open Access•Depika Dwarka, P H van Bragt et al.•ARTICLE•African Journal of Traditional…•2017

Background: The discovery of the only animal pigment, bilirubin, in the plant Strelitzia nicolai has triggered a vast number of questions regarding bilirubin’s formation and its role in the human body. Recent studies have confirmed that bilirubin at certain levels have many medical benefits. Various case studies have revealed that bilirubin is a potent antioxidant. Cervical cancer is one of South Africa’s largest womens’ health crises. It is esti…

  • Butanol fraction of Parkia biglobosa (Jacq.) G. Don leaves enhance pancreatic β-cell functions, stimulates insulin secretion and ameliorates other type 2 diabetes-associated complications in rats

  • In vitro anti-oxidative activities of the various parts of Parkia Biglobosa and gc-ms analysis of extracts with high activity

Open Access•Mohammed Auwal Ibrahim, MA Ibrahim et al.•ARTICLE•African Journal of Traditional…•2013

The anti-oxidative activities of sequentially extracted solvent fractions of different parts of P. biglobosa were evaluated in a series of in vitro assays. Our findings indicated that all extracts had electron donating and free radical scavenging activities. But the ethanol (EtOH) extracts from all the parts demonstrated more promising anti-oxidative effects in these experimental models. Apart from the aqueous extracts of the stem bark and leaves…
