  • Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction alleviates lipopolysaccharide-induced pneumonia by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation via AMPK/mTOR/ULK1-mediated autophagy

Open Access•Chen Su, Su Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2025

MXSG activates the AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 pathway, promoting autophagy and inhibiting excessive NLRP3 inflammasome activation induced by LPS. This subsequently reduces inflammatory cytokine (IL-1β, IL-18) levels, thereby mitigating LPS-triggered lung inflammation. The primary active compounds of MXSG that promote autophagy are amygdalin, licoricesaponin G2, and daidzein. These findings offer fresh perspectives on how MXSG mitigates pneumonia, highlightin…

  • Potential effect of Maxing Shigan decoction against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) revealed by network pharmacology and experimental verification

Open Access•Yuan Li, Fuhao Chu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

  • Development and Molecular Investigation into the Effects of Carbamazepine Exposure in the Zebrafish (Danio rerio)

Open Access•Huihui Chen, Huiting Yang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Concerns regarding environmental exposures and the impacts of pharmaceuticals on non-target aquatic organisms continue to increase. The antiepileptic drug carbamazepine (CBZ) is often detected as an aquatic contaminant and can disrupt various behaviors of fishes. However, there are few reports which investigate the mechanism of CBZ action in fish. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the effects of CBZ on embryonic development (i.e., hatc…

  • Study on the mechanisms of “Xiaoerhuashi Pill, XP” in intervening the health status of high-calorie diet animals

    Open Access•Chen Bai, Shao-yang Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2020

  • Acute and Chronic Toxicity of Carbamazepine on the Release of Chitobiase, Molting, and Reproduction in Daphnia similis

Open Access•Huihui Chen, Xiaohong Gu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

As one of the most frequently detected pharmaceutical compounds in aquatic environments, carbamazepine (CBZ) has recently been shown to cause acute and chronic toxicity in a variety of non-target aquatic organisms. However, little is known about the ecotoxicological effects it has on the molting and reproduction of crustaceans. The aim of the present work was to evaluate the acute and chronic toxic responses to CBZ in the crustacean Daphnia simil…

  • Antibiotics in Crab Ponds of Lake Guchenghu Basin, China: Occurrence, Temporal Variations, and Ecological Risks

Open Access•Wenxia Wang, Xiaohong Gu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2018

Antibiotics are widely used in aquaculture, however, this often results in undesirable ecological effects. To evaluate the occurrence, temporal variations, and ecological risk of antibiotics in five crab ponds of Lake Guchenghu Basin, China, 44 antibiotics from nine classes were analyzed by rapid resolution liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (RRLC-MS/MS). Twelve antibiotics belonging to six classes were detected in the aqueous phase o…

  • Effective Chemical Constituent’s Identification Of Extracting Solution From Herbs – A Review

Open Access•Tie Liu, Jie Zhen et al.•ARTICLE•African Journal of Traditional…•2014

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: The aim of this article, was the definition, and targets of possible mechanisms of Yin lai Decoction by retrieving the herbals in the decoction and integrating information from multi-databases, which can be guidance for the followed experimental study. MATHERIALS AND METHODS: The information from multi-databases was integrated. RESULTS: In the study, we discovered 92 possible gene targets of Yin lai Decoction, 87% of whi…
