  • Conservadurismo y derechas en la historia de México

    David K Burden•ARTICLE•Hispanic American Historical Review•2012

This two-volume work provides a nearly encyclopedic discussion of conservatives, conservatism, and “all things of the right” in Mexico from the independence era to the recent past. • El Porfiriato

    David K Burden•ARTICLE•Hispanic American Historical Review•2008

In this brief but comprehensive survey of Porfirian historiography, Mauricio Tenorio Trillo and Aurora Gómez Galvarriato deftly define the landmark historical studies on this period and the development of more detailed and nuanced histories on a plethora of topics relevant to the Porfiriato, including land tenure, industry, commerce, political centralization, and many others. Citing the well-known works of Herbert Klein, Jordi Maluquer de Motes, José C. Moya, and Moíses Gonzalez Navarro, Herrera Barreda notes that very little attention has been paid to intra-American migratory pract…
