Parent-Assisted Friendship Training for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Social Problems Associated with ADHD vs. ODD in Children Referred for Friendship Problems
Using patient reports to assess health-related quality of life after total hip replacement
Cluster analysis of child behavior checklists of 6 to 11-year-old males with varying degrees of behavior disorders
Behavior Observation Scale
35 autistic and 30 mentally retarded children matched for both mean chronological and mental age were observed in a playroom. The frequencies of occurrence of 67 objectively defined behaviors were coded on the Behavior Observation Scale. Implication for determining the objective diagnosis of autism is discussed
Effects of Intra-Trial and Inter-Trial Retention in Free Recall of Children
An analysis performed upon previously obtained developmental multi-trial free-recall data showed that retention of words on trial n recalled from the last 5 serial positions on trial n – 1 was significantly poorer than recall of other serial positions in a non-categorized list but not in a categorized list. Subsequent analysis suggested that this was due to higher levels of processing intrinsic to categorizable items rather than outputting strate…
Hypnotism, Imagination, and Human Potentialities
Effects of Temporal Grouping on Multi-Trial Free Recall
In two experiments, subjects were given 4 presentations of a list divided temporally into 5 groups of 3 items each (grouped) or received the same word lists at a constant rate of presentation (ungrouped) and matched for over-all presentation time. Grouped presentation enhanced recall only in the later serial positions while decreasing recall in the middle serial positions. Results of Exp. I also showed differences in order of recall. The results …
Case Study
A program of differential reinforcement of other behavior was employed to reduce the rates of aggression and head-banging in a 6-yr., 8-mo.-old profoundly retarded female. Whereas, two different time-out procedures were not associated with stable decreases in aggressive behavior, this program was associated with immediate and dramatic decreases in aggression and head-banging. The present results suggest that (a) initial values of such programs ma…
