  • Longitudinal associations between dental caries increment and risk factors in late childhood and adolescence

Open Access•Alexandra Curtis, John M VanBuren et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Public Health Dentistry•2018

With the exception of brushing frequency, modifiable risk factors under study were not significantly associated with ADJCI. When possible, researchers should consider presenting multiple models if fit criteria cannot discern among a group of optimal models

  • AIC identifies optimal representation of longitudinal dietary variables

Open Access•John M VanBuren, John VanBuren et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Public Health Dentistry•2017

The method presented here can be used by researchers performing statistical modeling in dental research. This method provides an alternative approach for assessing the propriety of variable representation to significance-based procedures, which could potentially lead to improved research in the dental community

  • Assessment of a pilot child playground injury prevention project in New York State

L Fisher, Victoria Harris et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•1980•Cited by: 3•References: 6

Following a child playground equipment injury prevention project conducted in New York State in 1977, there was a 42 per cent reduction in playground equipment hazards, and a 22.4 per cent reduction in playground related injuries treated in the two largest hospitals of one of the program sites. Knowledge about unsafe playground practices and equipment hazards improved after the workshops for playground personnel. This approach to injury preventio…
