  • The Reform Trends in Southeast Asian Nations in the Late 19th Century

Open Access•Thang Nguyen, Nguyen Thang et al.•ARTICLE•Eminak•2026

The purpose of the research paper is to examine the key characteristics of reform movements in Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam during the latter half of the 19th century; to analyse how these countries responded to the wave of Western colonial expansion through modernization and integration efforts; and to identify the major trends of national liberation movements across Southeast Asia. The scientific novelty. The study provides a comprehensive an…

  • Pharmacists’ perspectives on medication therapy management training needs for chronic disease care in Indonesian primary healthcare centers

  • Outcomes for Hospitalized Men Noted to Have Problems Associated With Living Alone in the United States

Open Access•Emmanuel Tito, Sumedha Nallamothu et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Men s Health•2026

More men live alone than ever before, and this increases their risk for mortality. In-hospital studies for men who have struggles associated with living alone have not been amply studied. We used the 2022 National Inpatient Sample to explore hospital outcomes among men with “problems living alone.” Using multivariable regression analyses, we examined in-hospital mortality, length of stay, total hospital charges, and post-discharge disposition. In…

  • Acting on Good Intentions? A Longitudinal Study of Prosocial Lending Intentions and Behaviours

Open Access•Rotem Shneor, Prince Baah-Peprah et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Business Ethics•2026

Research examining potential drivers of lender intentions and behaviours in prosocial lending platforms has often ignored ethical considerations in such decisions. We suggest a new model in this context which marries the components of the theory of planned behaviour with two additional variables: sense of moral obligation and platform trust. We apply structural equational modelling to a novel longitudinal dataset that combines information derived…

  • Cultural Contexts Meet Clinical Precision

Open Access•Hien Thi Nguyen, Charuai Suwanbamrung et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Posthumanism•2025

In an aging world population, prevention is essential because sarcopenia, a loss of muscular mass and function brought on by aging, significantly raises health risks and healthcare expenses. This PRISMA 2020-compliant systematic review (PROSPERO: CRD42024512949) evaluates the diagnostic performance of sarcopenia screening tools for community-dwelling older adults. We analyzed 27 studies (21,271 older adults) assessing eight tools. Databases were …

  • Comparing the effects of two repeated reading methods on EFL learners’ reading rates

Open Access•Ngoc Yen Vy Pham, John R Baker et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2024

English as a foreign language (EFL) learners often read at rates below recommended reading speeds needed for reading fluency. Two methods are often employed to facilitate reading rates: unassisted repeated reading (UARR) and audio-assisted repeated reading (AARR). Both approaches have demonstrated significant gains. However, the two methods’ effects have not been explored and compared in the course of one investigation. To address this, an experi…

  • Helicobacter pylori Eradication Efficacy of Therapy Based on the Antimicrobial Susceptibility in Children with Gastritis and Peptic Ulcer in Mekong Delta, Vietnam

Open Access•Loan Thi Thuy Le, Tuan Anh Nguyen et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2022

Tailored eradication therapy was highly successful in our study but did not achieve over 90%. We recommend that in countries with a high prevalence of antibiotic resistance in H. pylori strains, particularly where the amoxicillin-resistance rate of H. pylori is high, therapy tailored to antimicrobial susceptibility should be used as first-line therapy, and bismuth and tetracycline should be added to enhance the eradication efficacy in children

  • Gender and Satisfaction with the Host Society among Indochinese Refugees

    Open Access•Thanh V Tran, Thang D Nguyen et al.•ARTICLE•International Migration Review•1994•Cited by: 4•References: 11

This study examines gender differences in satisfaction with the host society (SWHS) in terms of satisfaction with housing, neighborhood and life. A sample of 1,384 respondents aged 17 to 73 was selected from the 1982 national survey of economic self-sufficiency of Indochinese refugees. Regression analysis revealed that for men: 1) satisfaction with housing was influenced by age upon arrival in the United States and financial problems; 2) satisfac…
