A Computer Program for the Games-Howell Multiple Comparison Procedure
This paper describes a Pascal computer program which performs the Games-Howell procedure for making multiple comparisons among means of groups with unequal variances and unequal ns. Data are read from a text file consisting of means, variances, and sample sizes of the groups
A Computer Program to Perform a Multivariate Profile Analysis
This paper describes a BASIC computer program which performs a profile analysis for two independent samples. Data may be read either from a disk file in the form of raw scores or from DATA statements within the program in the form of mean vectors and a pooled covariance matrix. Three F ratios are computed to test for parallel profiles, for coincident profiles, and for level profiles
Comparison of Item Responses of English- and Spanish-Speaking Children Using Minimum Logit Chi-Squared Regression
A total of 102 Spanish-speaking preschool pupils and 104 English-speaking pupils were individually administered the Spanish and English versions of the Cooperative Preschool Inventory. Minimum logit chi-squared regression was applied to each of the 33 items of the verbal scale of the inventory. Several differences in the response patterns of the two groups were noted, although the number of potentially biased items was small (12%)
Convergent Validity of the Multidimensional-Multiattributional Causality Scale with the Mathematics Attribution Scale
A total of 107 academically talented high school students was administered the Multidimensional-Multiattributional Causality Scale (MMCS) and the Mathematics Attribution Scale (MAS). The MMCS subscales which assessed the attributions of success and failure in school to effort and ability were significantly correlated with the MAS subscales which were purported to assess similar constructs. The correlational findings provided limited support for t…
