Levin and Simmons (1962) found two modal response patterns when they praised emotionally disturbed boys in an operant conditioning siruation. Seven boys (Group T) terminated response on the marble-dropping task soon after the end of the baseline period and the onset of the period in which praise was contingent upon operant response.
