Experimental Application of Reinforcement Principles to the Analysis and Treatment of Hospitalized Alcoholics
As a pilot project to demonstrate that reinforcement techniques can be applied to change the behavior of alcoholics, a simulated “real world” economy was established in the Richmond State Hospital, Indiana. An attempt is made to estimate the extent to which formal psychological and psychiatric techniques are being employed in the selection of police recruits. To do this, the authors surveyed the 61 U.
