Systematic Desensitization as a Component for Treatment of Alopecia Areata
Systematic desensitization and relaxation were employed to examine their effects on hair growth in a 20-yr.-old male with a 4-yr. history of alopecia areata. Six bald scalp patches were photographed over 6 mo.; 2 ordered hierarchies involving interpersonal and compulsive themes were presented in 8 treatment sessions.
