  • Antecedents and impact of distrust of generative AI in organizations: A socio-psychological perspective

Junjun Li, Li J et al.•ARTICLE•Information Technology and People•2026

Purpose As organizations increasingly adopt generative artificial intelligence (GAI) to enhance productivity, growing worker distrust may hinder this progress. While there is emerging literature from a technology acceptance perspective, the factors driving distrust from a socio-psychological perspective and the impact of distrust on adoption intentions require deeper exploration. We developed and validated a comprehensive framework to examine GAI…

  • Lead exposure increases the risk of retinal vein occlusion: A population-based analysis and investigation of PRICKLE4/PLCXD1-mediated endothelial cell mechanisms

Open Access•Shuai Yang, Yang Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is one of a leading cause of blindness with complex etiology. This study aims to investigate the relationship between blood heavy metal concentrations and RVO, and explored transcriptomic effects of lead on endothelial cells. Methods Using the 2005-2008 NHANES data, individuals ≥40 years with fundus and heavy metal testing were analyzed. Multivariate logistic regression model was used to evaluate the relati…

  • TongueNet-GYN: A multimodal deep learning framework for non-invasive gynecological disease screening in digital public health

Open Access•Chang Liu, Yuwei Luo et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background: Gynecological diseases, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis, are prevalent global health concerns. Conventional diagnostics often rely on invasive procedures or costly imaging, limiting accessibility in resource-constrained settings. This study proposes TongueNet-GYN, a novel, non-invasive screening framework that leverages tongue image analysis integrated with modern AI. Methods: We compiled a dataset of 3,167 …

  • Reimagining heterosexuality and femininity: Girl top/Boy bottom (GB) fantasies by hetero-romance game players in China

Open Access•Celine Liao, T Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Global Media and China•2026

This article explores how Girl Top/Boy Bottom (GB) genre in hetero-romance games creates critical spaces where fans actively engage in counter-heteronormative gender and sexuality politics. Using the concept of “constructive fantasy,” this paper examines how women fans negotiate and experiment with gender roles and sexuality in hetero-romance and how their efforts breach the boundary between fantasy and reality. We identify three ways in which co…

  • College students’ mindsets and second-language academic text reading: An eye-movement study

    Open Access•Yu-Cin Jian, Pin-Hsien Kuo et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2025

Recent research has confirmed that growth mindsets (GMs) have a positive effect on reading performance and attitudes towards engagement. However, due to the scarce use of second language (L2) texts as reading materials, if mindsets are relevant to L2 reading processes remain unclear. This study used an eye tracker, questionnaires, and a reading comprehension test to explore the relationship between readers’ language mindsets and levels of concent…

  • A Pilot Study of Self-Compassion and Social Media Problems: Associations, Moderations, and Speculations

    Open Access•Mollie D K Carter, T Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•2025

Researchers reject the idea that social media use causes anxiety and depression, instead reporting that cognitive and behavioral variables of social media self-control failure, fear of missing out, and social media social comparison contribute to anxiety and depression. While prohibiting, delaying, or fasting from social media are suggested by popular writers as answers to these problems, prohibiting social media is known to be ineffective at pre…

  • Association of dietary vitamin K1 intake with epilepsy in adults in US: A cross-sectional study of National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2013–2018

Open Access•T Chen, Baoquan Wang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Higher dietary vitamin K1 intake was associated with lower incidence of epilepsy. Our study did not establish a cause-and-effect relationship. Further large-scale prospective studies and randomized trials are warranted to confirm our findings

  • Association of the blood levels of specific volatile organic compounds with nonfatal cardio-cerebrovascular events in US adults

Open Access•Jing Li, Li Jing et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

This study found that VOCs (benzene, ethylbenzene, o-xylene, and m-/p-xylene) exposure was associated with increased incidence of nonfatal cardio-cerebrovascular events in US adults, and the results need to be confirmed by larger cohort studies

  • Sesame use in Turpan during the Tang dynasty: Evidence from the Astana Cemetery

  • From system design to IC design in 14 weeks-teamwork makes it possible

    Open Access•T Chen•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Education•1993

A VLSI system design course that provides students with an opportunity to learn about and experience the entire VLSI chip design from the system level down to the layout level is described. The full-custom design project has a time constraint of 14 weeks, one semester. It is shown that students not only understand design issues at the system and logic levels, but also experience the impact of design decisions at system level on the chip layout. >
