  • An improved forest canopy height mapping method by combining GAN-enhanced optical imagery, SAR, and Gedi data

Open Access•Rongxi Wang, Hongtao Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Trees Forests and People•2026

Forest canopy height (FCH) is a crucial parameter for characterizing forest structure and ecosystem dynamics. NASA’s Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) has greatly facilitated tree height estimation by providing accurate vertical structure measurements. However, the sparse spatial distribution of GEDI observations remains a significant constraint for large-scale FCH mapping. Although optical remote sensing imagery can compensate for s…

  • Exploring the Inter-relationship of depressive and anxiety symptoms associated with suicidal ideation among migrant industrial workers in shenzhen

Open Access•Rongxi Wang, Shangbin Liu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Findings highlight the interconnected nature of depressive and anxiety symptoms and how these symptoms related to suicidal ideation, thus providing insights for targeted interventions to improve mental well-being among migrant industrial workers in Shenzhen. Intervention strategies focusing on the most influential symptoms such as "restlessness" and "feeling blue" may yield better effectiveness

  • A Delphi Study to Construct an Index of Practice for Community Nurses Providing Transitional Home Care for Patients with Chronic Diseases

Open Access•Jinjin Ge, Chunyan Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•INQUIRY The Journal of Health…•2024

Community nurses play a key role in providing continuous home care for patients with chronic diseases. However, a perfect system of responsibilities and requirements has not yet been formed, and nurses cannot provide high-quality nursing services for home-based patients. We attempted to construct an index of the scope of practice for community nurses providing home-based transitional care for patients with chronic diseases and to guide nurses in …

  • Association between work stress and mental health in Chinese public health workers during the Covid-19 epidemic

Open Access•Yinqiao Dong, 公雄 橋本 et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

Background: Little is known about the mediating mechanisms underlying the association between work stress and mental health, especially among primary public health workers (PHWs). We aimed to evaluated the association between work stress and mental health among PHWs, and explore the mediating roles of social support and self-efficacy. Methods: A large-scale cross-sectional survey was conducted among 3,809 PHWs from all 249 community health center…

  • The prevalence of childhood sexual experiences and intimate partner violence among transgender women in China

Open Access•Lulu Xu, Ruijie Chang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

Objective Several studies highlighted childhood sexual experiences (CSEs) and intimate partner violence (IPV) as risk factors that affected lifetime suicidal ideation. TW had higher rates of CSEs and IPV than cisgender people. The aim of this study was to comprehensively assess the prevalence of CSEs and IPV among TW and their association with lifetime suicidal ideation. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 247 TW in Shenyang and …

  • The information-motivation-behavioral skills (IMB) model of antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence among people living with HIV in Shanghai

Zihe Peng, Hui Chen et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS Care•2023

The Information-Motivation-Behavioral skills (IMB) model of antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence was applied in people living with HIV/AIDS in Shanghai, China to understand how adherence-related information, motivation and behavioral skills would affect ART adherence. The LifeWindows Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills ART Adherence Questionnaire (LW-IMB-AAQ) was translated into Chinese and used. The IMB model was then implemented by testi…

  • Relationships of work stress and interpersonal needs with industrial workers’ mental health

Open Access•Rongxi Wang, Yujie Liu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

The mediating role of defeat and the moderator role of social support in the relationship between stress and depression/anxiety were confirmed in industrial workers. Workers who reported more work and interpersonal stress would report more defeat feelings, and then exhibited more depression and anxiety symptoms; this mediation effect was stronger for those who had lower social support, respectively

  • Predicting the risk of HIV infection among internal migrant MSM in China

Open Access•Shangbin Liu, Danni Xia et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Introduction: Internal migrant Men who have sex with men (IMMSM), which has the dual identity of MSM and floating population, should be more concerned among the vulnerable groups for HIV in society. Establishing appropriate prediction models to assess the risk of HIV infection among IMMSM is of great significance to against HIV infection and transmission. Methods: HIV and syphilis infection were detected using rapid test kits, and other 30 variab…

  • Prediction Model for the Risk of HIV Infection among MSM in China

Open Access•Yinqiao Dong, Shangbin Liu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

The impact of psychosocial factors on increasing the risk of HIV infection among men who have sex with men (MSM) has attracted increasing attention. We aimed to develop and validate an integrated prediction model, especially incorporating emerging psychosocial variables, for predicting the risk of HIV infection among MSM. We surveyed and collected sociodemographic, psychosocial, and behavioral information from 547 MSM in China. The participants w…

  • Psychosocial Problems and Condomless Anal Sex among Transgender Women in Two Cities of China

Open Access•Danni Xia, Yingjie Chen et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Studies examining the association between psychosocial problems and condomless anal sex (CAS) among transgender women (TGW) are rare. In this study, close attention was paid to the effect of co-occurring psychosocial problems on sexual risk behaviors. A cross-sectional study, including 247 TGW, was conducted in Kunming and Shenyang, China. The prevalence of condomless anal sex among TGW in the previous 6 months was 30.8%. Most of the psychosocial…

  • The Mental Health and Syndemic Effect on Suicidal Ideation among Migrant Workers in China

Open Access•Kechun Zhang, Chen Xu et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Background: Migrant workers are in a socially disadvantaged position and thus suffer from more stress and mental health disorders, resulting in a high risk of suicidal ideation. This study aimed to explore the association between psychosocial problems and suicidal ideation, and the syndemic effect of concurrent psychosocial problems on suicidal ideation among migrant workers. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study and recruited 1805 migran…

  • Psychometric Properties of Interpersonal Needs Questionnaire-15 for Predicting Suicidal Ideation among Migrant Industrial Workers in China

Open Access•Rongxi Wang, Yexin Chen et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

The INQ has good psychometric properties and can be used to assess how migrant workers living in the Shenzhen perceive meeting interpersonal psychological needs and shows good predictive ability of suicidal ideation. Perceived burdensomeness appears to play a role in suicide and may be a point of intervention, yet the notable deviation from previous findings and the relative weakness of two of the other factors warrant further study
