  • Sleeping Patterns in Patients with Opioid Use Disorder

Agnieszka I Chrobok, Daniela Krause et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Psychoactive Drugs•2020

The aim of the study was to explore whether abstinent patients on recent opioid detoxification or on opioid maintenance treatment suffer from sleeping problems. 199 patients on opioid maintenance treatment (methadone, diacetylmorphine and buprenorphine) or recent opioid detoxification were included in this exploratory cross-sectional study. • Carrageenin-Induced Edema in Hind Paw of the Rat as an Assay for Antiinflammatory Drugs

    Open Access•C A Winter, Edwin A Risley et al.•ARTICLE•Experimental Biology and Medicine•1962

A method is presented for measuring the edema induced by injection of 0.05 ml of 1% solution of carrageenin, an extract of Chondrus, into the plantar tissues of the hind paw of the rat. Peak edema develops within the first 3 to 4 hours, and is inhibited by pretreatment of the animals by single oral doses of antiinflammatory agents, steroid or non-steroid. Log dose responses to drugs are linear and parallel, and yield potency ratios with relativel…
