쉼은 우리의 일상과 건강을 영위하는 데 핵심적인 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 쉼이 사회적 조건에 따라 불균등하게 분포해 있고, 이러한 쉼의 격차가 곧 건강 격차로 이어질 수 있다는 점에 주목한다. 이러한 문제의식을 기반으로 본 연구는 쉼에 대한 여가학과 의학적 접근의 한계를 보완하고, 쉼의 조건과 자율성을 강조하며, 쉼 동기에 따른 쉼 실천을 매개하는 개념을 쉼 역량(개인이 스스로 가치 있다고 생각하는 방식으로 쉴 수 있는 능력과 효능감)으로 개념화한 후, 쉼 역량과 이에 따른 건강 결과에서 인구사회경제적으로 상이한 집단 간의 차이를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 ‘한국사회의 쉼과 건강 조사’를 활용하여 연령대별, 성별, 그리고 교육수준별 쉼 역량의 차이와 그에 따른 주관적 건강수준과 우울증상의 차이를 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 전반적으로 다른 연령층에 비해 노년층이, 그리고 여성에 비해 남…
