  • Factors Affecting Levels of Physical Activity in Adults

    Open Access•Vern Seefeldt, Robert M Malina et al.•ARTICLE•Sports Medicine•2002

  • Communalities for rates of diaphyseal elongation of short bones of the hand of children with Down syndrome

Open Access•Wm Cameron Chumlea, Robert M Malina et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1980•References: 9

Communality indices for rates of elongation of diaphyses of short bones of the hand were computed from serial data for children with Down syndrome, 7 to 14 years of age. Communalities were larger for adjacent than for nonadjacent bones and also larger for bones grouped in rows rather than rays of the hand. This pattern is similar to that reported for normal children. Communality indices for rates of diaphyseal elongation for girls with Down syndr…

  • A double logistic comparison of growth patterns of normal children and children with Down's syndrome

Open Access•G Lawrence Rarick, Howard Wainer et al.•ARTICLE•Annals of Human Biology•1975

A double logistic model was used to compare six parameters of growth in standing height of 31 children with Down's syndrome with 136 children from the California Guidance Study. Multivariate analysis of variance of the growth data showed that while there were significant differences in all six parameters favouring the normal over the Down's children, there were no significant differences with respect to error of fit. Multivariate analysis with fi…
