These findings reinforce the influence of sociodemographic and behavioral factors on the increase in students' screen time during the pandemic, highlighting the importance of variables such as household income, home environment, and guardians' behavior in young people's digital exposure
Replacing sedentary behavior with physical activity reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression
Replacing SB with equivalent quantities of MPA or VPA reduces the odds of symptoms of anxiety and depression. Therefore, it is essential to develop public policies that encourage increased PA levels and reduced SB in university environments to promote mental health and improve the physical health of students with mental disorder symptoms
