Out of prison, out of crime? The complex interplay between the process of desistance and severe resource disadvantages in women‘s post-release lives
We examine the influence of social capital, subjective changes and post-release resource disadvantages on women‘s desistance and reentry pathways. Using a sample of 1478 formerly incarcerated women, we estimate logistic hybrid random-effects models to assess the influence of several factors on offending during a 7-year follow-up period. We use interviews with a subsample of women to explore the mechanisms underlying the quantitative findings. Res…
Online Disclosure of Sexual Victimization: A Systematic Review
We map the available scientific literature on how and why victims of sexual violence use digital platforms in the aftermath of victimization. Twenty-four empirical studies on sexual victimization and online disclosure were identified by systematically searching Web of Science and PsycINFO, checking reference lists, and consulting authors about relevant publications. The literature on online disclosure of sexual victimization does not yield a cohe…

Data are used from the fourth generation of the Dutch Transfive Study, which contains demographical data as well as and conviction data on family members from consecutive generations of families. Results …

The Effects of Employment on Longitudinal Trajectories of Offending: A Follow-Up of High-Risk Youth From 18 to 32 Years of Age
This article analyzes the effects of employment on delinquent development from 18 to 32 years of age in 270 high-risk males. Prior to 18 years of age, all men had undergone residential treatment for serious problem behavior in a juvenile justice institution in the Netherlands. We use semiparametric group-based models to investigate the effect of employment on their offending, taking into account static personality and background characteristics. …
Violence Against Women in Yemen: Official Statistics and an Exploratory Survey

Female Asylum‐Seekers in the Netherlands: An Empirical Study
This article presents the findings from a study into the chances for refugee status, or a temporary residence permit, for three cohorts of male and female asylum‐seekers to the Netherlands. The study investigated whether men and women with similar backgrounds in terms of country of origin, social and demographic characteristics have a similar likelihood of obtaining permission to stay in the Netherlands. The quantitative findings are corroborated…
The Effect of Same-Age and Mixed-Age Grouping in Day Care on Parent-Child Attachment Security

For 45 children in the age range of 2 to 6 years, parent-child attachment relationships were assessed by means of the Attachment Q-Sort. It was found that attachment security did not differ significantly for children who had been in mixed-age or in same-age grouping, or who had experienced …

The Economic Cycle in Bourbon Central Mexico: A Critique of the Recaudación del diezmo líquido en pesos
T HIS article questions the usefulness of the tithe data of colonial Mexican bishoprics as an index of agrarian production in New Spain. It will present evidence of the close relationship that exists between the Mexican tithe data and those of Mexican silver production and Royal Treasury income, a relationship that might indicate inflation. In doing so, the main objective is to highlight the background of the inflationary development. For this pu…
