  • How do GenZ speakers use and process emoji in chatbot conversations

Open Access•Marina A Zhukova, Marina Zhukova et al.•ARTICLE•Proceedings of the Linguistic…•2024

This study investigates use and processing of emoji in chatbot conversations. 32 GenZ participants engaged in semi-naturalistic chats in an eye-tracker for ten minutes with a ChatGPT bot that used specific emoji from two personas (GenZ and Millennial). Eye-tracking and sentiment analysis revealed that the GenZ bot was typically positively perceived, while the Millennial bot showed one of two patterns: adaptation or hyperfocus on the ‘wrong’ emoji…

  • A Dimensional Approach to Discrepancy in Parenting Styles in Russian Families

Open Access•Marina A Zhukova, Nan Li et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2023

We investigated the magnitude and direction of differences in parenting styles as they relate to children's mental health problems, as assessed using the CBCL. • Home-Based Dynamics of Sleepiness-Related Conditions Starting at Biological Evening and Later (Beyond Working)

Open Access•Валерия Демарева, Irina Zayceva et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

Shift work requires round-the-clock readiness to perform professional duties, and the workers' performance highly depends on their sleepiness level, which can be underestimated during a shift. Various factors, including the time of day, can influence sleepiness in shift workers. The objective of this study was to explore the dynamics of sleepiness-related conditions assessed through heart rate variability analysis, starting from the biological ev…

While there has been an increase in studies investigating the relationship between endogenous oxytocin (OXT) concentrations and human social interactions over the past decades, these studies still seem far from converging, both in methodological terms and in terms of their results. This systematic review and meta-analysis were aimed at a comprehensive evaluation and synthesis of empirical evidence on the relationship between endogenous OXT concen…

  • An Event‐Related Potentials Study of Executive Functioning in Adults With a History of Institutionalization

Open Access•Iuliia An, Marina A Zhukova et al.•ARTICLE•New Directions for Child and…•2020

The current study investigated the long-term effects of institutionalization on the inhibitory control of young adults raised in orphanages using the color-word Stroop task. We examined whether young adults raised in institutions (IC group; n = 24; M = 22.17 years, SD = 6.7) would demonstrate poorer behavioral performance and atypical neural response to incongruent stimuli compared to their peers raised in biological families (Biological Family C…

  • Language Development of Children Raised in Institutional Settings
