Underestimation of Energy Intake Using 24-Hour Recall by Korean Urban Elders
To investigate the underreporting of total energy intake, we analyzed the one-day dietary intake data collected by 24-hour recall method from 381 Seoul- and Ansung-dwelling older adults (≥60y) in Korea. Underreporting was addressed by computing the ratio of energy intake (EI) to the estimated basal metabolic rate (BMRest) from age- and gender-specific equations of Schofield.
