  • M&As and the value chain of host countries in the “belt and road” — Based on path test of technological innovation

Open Access•Yun Qiu, Chao Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Technological Forecasting and…•2024

  • Threshold conditions for curbing Covid-19 with a dynamic zero-case policy derived from 101 outbreaks in China

Open Access•Sanyi Tang, Xia Wang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

By 31 May 2022, original/Alpha, Delta and Omicron strains induced 101 outbreaks of COVID-19 in mainland China. Most outbreaks were cleared by combining non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) with vaccines, but continuous virus variations challenged the dynamic zero-case policy (DZCP), posing questions of what are the prerequisites and threshold levels for success? And what are the independent effects of vaccination in each outbreak? Using a modi…

  • The minimal Covid-19 vaccination coverage and efficacy to compensate for a potential increase of transmission contacts, and increased transmission probability of the emerging strains

Open Access•Biao Tang, Xue Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2022

The analyses show that an immunization program with a vaccine efficacy rate below the predicted critical values will not be as effective as simply investing in the contact tracing/quarantine/isolation implementation. We reached similar conclusions by considering the final epidemic size (or attack rates). This research then highlights the importance of monitoring the impact on transmissibility and vaccine efficacy of emerging strains

  • Estimating the Instantaneous Asymptomatic Proportion With a Simple Approach

Open Access•Chunyu Li, Shi Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2021

Background: The asymptomatic proportion is a critical epidemiological characteristic that modulates the pandemic potential of emerging respiratory virus, which may vary depending on the nature of the disease source, population characteristics, source–host interaction, and environmental factors. Methods: We developed a simple likelihood-based framework to estimate the instantaneous asymptomatic proportion of infectious diseases. Taking the COVID-1…

  • Regional and socioeconomic disparities in cardiovascular disease in Canada during 2005–2016

Open Access•Haijiang Dai, Biao Tang et al.•ARTICLE•BMJ Global Health•2021

INTRODUCTION: The objective of this study is to examine the temporal trends and patterns of regional and socioeconomic disparities in cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Canada during 2005-2016. METHODS: A total of 670 000 adults aged ≥20 years who participated in the Canadian Community Health Surveys between 2005 and 2016 were enrolled for this study. CVD referred to heart disease and stroke in this study. Equivalised household income was used as a …

  • Astragaloside IV inhibits protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B and improves insulin resistance in insulin-resistant HepG2 cells and triglyceride accumulation in oleic acid (OA)-treated HepG2 cells

Open Access•Xiao Zhou, Lin Lin Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021
